This place is a hidden gem in the state of Hidalgo however It is not an easy task to get to it. I would recommend to get the same guide guy as I did. He has a little tour company in the city of Zimapán, it’s called Mochileros Sin Frontera he’s name is Elmer and it’s the safest and experienced guy for this tour. Take comfortable shoes If you don’t have hiking shoes I think tennis shoes be ok, do not carry heavy stuff in you back pack, remember you have to take plenty of water to drink. So you start really early in the morning from Zimapán you’ll drive a really nice scenic road down to the river, once you there you’ll take a little 20 minute boat ride, after that you’ll start walking about 2 hours, now it might not sound to much of a walk, but you’ll go up and down hills, through water and mud and go through a really amazing cave, but believe me it’s all worth it. You also have the option to camp there, if you have the time I really recommend to do that so you get to spend more time at the thermal water cavern. Just tell your tour guy and he can arrange someone to carry all the food and equipment you need to camp there. If you have kids and want to take them just make sure they are active and willing to walk. I recommend to do this tour during the summer so you take advantage of the summer hours. If you want to do it all in one day you’ll be back at the city of Zimapán by 9pm.

This place is beautiful, to get to the Grottoes you have to get off in the vans they have there and also walk 2 hours. But it's all very worth it, the water is super clear and hot.

Arriving at the place by car is complicated for low cars, it is necessary to hire transportation to take you, once there, the hiking is beautiful but complicated for people with limited mobility. The tour consists of reaching the canyon through a 2-hour walk, during which you will cross the river 8 times to reach the hot spring pools where you can admire the beautiful canyon and bathe in delicious hot water. The tours start at 8 in the morning, and you have to dedicate the whole day to it. You can eat right there after your tour, the local people are friendly and very nice, you will surely have an incredible walk.

They took great care of us, Mr. Hilarion was in charge of the logistics, if you need to go with a lot of people, do not hesitate to contact him, the guides are always attentive, after 2 hours of walking you reach the source of the water, without a doubt a unique experience, there is settlement where you can park and it is a safe place as the locals take care of their place in the middle of nowhere.

Beautiful place that you can visit with family, friends and partner; Beautiful landscapes. You just have to book in advance, it is recommended that you request information on their Facebook page (with the same name). It is not recommended for people with limitations, since they are long-distance walks and small trails, with limited access. The entrance time to the caves is from 5 to 9 a.m.

Beautiful place, hot springs, camping, hiking. When you get to the campground, the locals take you down in their trucks since the road is very thin and they are organized so that you only go up or down one at a time, the walk to the caves as such is heavy but very fun, between Rivers (warm water ), stones, trees and the dry cave, you finally reach the caves where the water is up to almost 40 degrees. Overall very good experience

Beautiful place, the water is warm, you can camp, the landscapes are beautiful. Suggestions: - The closest town is Zimapan, Hidalgo, the map shows you a path, however the entrance is much earlier, in any case it is marked and the guides are on the road indicating the entrance. - IF you take a car, you leave it still on the side of the road, the guides take you out in vans in a journey of between 30 to 45 minutes, I recommend bringing something to sit on because you are in the back and it is dirt, it becomes annoying after for a while, a normal car won't go down, you need a 4x4 truck. - You have to arrive early because at 11-12 am, the trucks no longer drop off, you also have to go in the dry season, because sometimes the rain prevents the descent. - To enjoy more I recommend camping, you can do it on the mountain where the stands are, there are areas designated for this, but I think it is better next to the river, but in this option you have to take things down and the truth is that the path is heavy although not impossible. - When you arrive they assign you a guide for the route to the place where the water flows, it is hot, you have to bring water, sunscreen and comfortable shoes that can get wet, I do not highly recommend aqua shoes because the sole is uncomfortable and the journey is 2 hours after the camping area. - In the place there is a bathroom and food stalls, they even sell beer, very restorative for the returnee, but it is only at the top, if you camp below there is nothing. - There are two routes to get to the water spout, through a cave and following the river, the first seems better to me and is not so complicated. - You have to check the weather but light camping equipment is enough. I consider the hiking to be an intermediate level, it is exhausting but the view is worth it.
